Nothing Happens Until You Make a Sale

Whether you are a small business owner or the accountant of a small business, or both, it is important to realize that nothing happens until you make a sale!

This concept is critical to the success of any business operator or internal manager. What do you have to sell? How does that product or service meet your customers’ needs? How do you get customers to your door so you can show them your product or service? If you do not have a method to sell, then there is no need to have a business.

iStock_yay_i_made_saleEvery asset should be engaged in making sales. Everyone in the company must have a marketing mindset! Every employee should be involved in the sales process in some way. If he or she is not involved on the front line with customers themselves, then he or she should be supporting someone who is.

Sales training is essential! Call a sales meeting often to see what is working, and what is not. Discuss changes in your sales techniques to enhance the skills of everyone. Include the office and production staff in these meetings, to hear their input, and remind them that sales make the business flourish.
