Well, we did it again.  We’re on the Utah 100 List (fastest growing companies) for the fifth year in a row, and INC magazine included us in their national list of the fastest growing 5000 companies not bad when you know that there are nearly 50 million companies in the nation.

Bill Catlette recently released an article entitled, A recession is a terrible thing to waste.  His message lists a number of things an individual can personally do to make our Nation’s economic problems a positive opportunity.  Although they don’t have anything to do with accounting, this quote does have application to our profession.

I asked a small business owner today about his experience with his Accountant.  He responded describing a situation I hear way too much.

Kind readers have been asking where I have been, having not contributed to my blog for some time. maybe this press release will answer some of their questions. But, may I say that i have recommitted myself to get back into my writing in 2008. Enjoy!

Convenience is a wonderful thing.  It improves our life style, and enables us to do more with less.  However, it carries a price when it comes to learning.

In a recent comment to my blog, John asked the question, “What can your accounting firm offer my business that is different from my current CPA I am now using?”. It was a great question, and one I don’t mind answering.

Ten years ago, Universal Accounting Center staff consisted of myself, my brother Ken, and Beth, a part-time office worker. Today, we have over 50 people employed here.
