Allen's Background

Allen B. Bostrom, CPA, is President of Universal Accounting Center based in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He has over 30 years experience working with businesses of all sizes and has taught over 30,000 people various aspects of accounting and business management. He has authored countless business management articles for publication and distribution, and his weekly e-zine boasts a circulation of over 30,000 readers. Additionally, he has developed coursework that is used in Universal campuses across the country.

Allen is the first to tell you that he owes much of his business sense to his father, Alf Bostrom. As a young man, Allen often accompanied his father to work where he observed powerful management principles in play. Allen believes these principles are even more important today than they were thirty-five years ago due to increased competitive pressures.

His first book, In the Black: Nine Principles to Make Your Business More Profitable shares many principles that Allen learned from his father.  It’s a quick read that can dramatically change the way a business owner looks at his or her company. His latest book, Red to Black in 30 Days, trains accountants how to transform a financially troubled business into a profitable venture in a short time.

Allen is a much sought-after speaker and presenter that promotes the importance of using accounting information in business decision-making. He has taught and practiced  profit strategies in virtually all industries, and in economic conditions.

Allen lives in Sandy, Utah, with his wife Sheri. His four children are spreading their wings.

I think Mr. Bostom is a true professional in his field. Now the only problem is answering the age old question of small business What can your accounting firm offer my business
that is different from my current CPA I am now using?

I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION.

Thanks,

John

I am currently studying Allen’s classroom sessions from home. At first i was very skeptical of the potential for gain and growth as a professional. Upon completing the very first module I had no doubt that his innovative ideas and setup of the program itself will give me the essential tools for being successful. For that i am very greatful and would love to personally thank Allen for all he has taught me.

I started my bookkeeping services last year after completing the Bookkeeping And Accounting for Small Business couse.
I’d like to know if there is an advance course to follow this one.
I would love to advance my accounting skills using Mr. Bostrom’s courses. I find them really easy to follow and understand, besides I can always go back and review the DVD again.
Thank you.

Dear Mr. Bostrom,

I just purchased your book and am eagerly anticipating its arrival.
I will be purchasing a computer repair franchise shortly, and I will want to cover all my bases and keep expenses low.
I think this book may be a good start for me.

Also, I wanted to point out that the link below [to your book information] does not work… it tells me “Product not found”:

Many may not know to simply click on the link at the top to view the catalog.

I was at your seminar last Thursday 9-13-2007, in wilmington, DE at the Double Tree hotel. I was very impresed by your presentation. Really professional, yet very down to earth and forthright. Thanks. I just wanted to let you know that even though I left it was only because of the lack of funds at this time. It was certainly nothing in your presentation that turned me off. I am still very much interested in your program and hope to find a way to afford the program in the near future. Hoping that you continue to be successful I remain;

Sincerly;

Charles Barmore

I just finished reading your article concerning registering tax preparers. I totally agree with the needs to register tax preparers and have been preparing tax returns for over 20 years, 2 years with a firm and 18 on my own. I have a very small client base and strictly deal with individual returns. I have seen so much corruption in various aspects of the business world I have no desire to prepare their returns, because I cannot honestly trust the numbers that are being given to me. Hopefully the education aspect will be delayed because with myself having a small client base may not justify my continuance within the industry. Hopefully things will work out for the best and I may even provide education to my customers so they can utilize a commercial software to prepare their own taxes should I choose to discontinue my business. Good luck to all of those honest tax preparers.
